When is L'Impasse du Temple open?

L'Impasse du Temple is open as a large stay holiday house between May and the end of October.  Special stays of a week or shorter are available on demand.

What are the differences between the room types?

All rooms are fully described on our web site under  Rooms/Chambres

The full capacity of each room is also described there.

 

Can we visit as a family?

We can accommodate children and we can also provide cots if required.

 

Is there a minimum length of stay?

We do have a minimum length of stay of a week.  Bookings longer than one week are also acceptable.  Out of season bookings, including stays of less than 7 nights are also acceptable.

 

Do you offer exclusive use of L'Impasse du Temple?

Our guests have exclusive use of the house at L'impasse du Temple and the garden and pool.  On occasion, there will be some pool maintenance, and garden watering.  This is usually performed at a time to minimise any disruption to guests.

Do you accept pets?

We do not accept any pets or other animals.

 

Do you have air conditioning?

No, but this stone house does stay cool during summer.  With the shutters closed against the heat of the sun the rooms maintain their coolness.  All rooms are equipped with fans.   In the cooler months all rooms and the bathrooms are heated with radiators.

Can we do laundry?

There is a laundry room with a 13kg washing machine and a 9 kg clothes drier,  In summer we encourage guests to use the clothes line in the courtyard. An iron & ironing board are provided.

 

Is the swimming pool heated?

The salt water swimming pool is open between May until the middle of October and is heated by a heat exchange system and also by the sun!  During this period, the temperatures range between 20 and 27 degrees.

 

What other facilities are there at L'Impasse du Temple?

In addition to the pool & gardens, inside L'Impasse du Temple we have a lounge area with a Smart TV, DVD player and a large selection of DVD's. There is a small library, board games and cards. 

 

If WiFi available?

Free WiFi is available throughout L'Impasse du Temple, and the password is available in each room.  We also provide a USB charger in each room.  

 

What about eating locally?

There are two local restaurants within walking distance and another restaurant at Lac de Montbel (2 kms).  There are also many other restaurants within 20 kms, most notably at Mirepoix (14 kms)

Do you offer smoking rooms?

It is illegal to smoke within public establishments in France and L'Impasse du Temple supports this law by forbidding smoking in any of the guest rooms and other internal rooms.  Guests who wish to smoke are requested to do so outside.

How can I check availability & make a booking?

Our Web Site offers an on line booking form.  You can even add a general enquiry  but most guests are happy to send an email to john.furness@wanadoo.fr.

 

What deposit do I need to pay?

When you make a reservation we will require a 25% deposit to confirm your reservation and this may be made by Visa, MasterCard or debit card, French cheque or bank transfer.  The final payment details are contained within the booking contract that we will send to you.

 

Which credit cards can we use?

We accept Visa and  MasterCard and most debit cards (we do not accept American Express, nor Diners cards)

How do we find L'Impasse du Temple?

L'Impasse du Temple is located in the smalll village of Léran.  It is 15 minutes from the Medieval town of Mirepoix, 2 km from Lac Montbel, 50 minutes to the ski slopes of the Monts D'Olmes. 50 minutes from the UNESCO World Heritage site of Carcassonne, and an hour from Toulouse.  See our web site for more detailed directions.

Is there plenty to see & do in and around Léran ?

If you like the great outdoors, there are numerous walks and cycle paths in the area, as well as water activities at Lac Montbel, and white water rafting about an hour away.  You can visit medieval villages and local markets, enjoy a glass of wine at vineyards or simply relax by the pool.  You are spoiled for choice.  We provide a folder with suggested itineraries with maps and a range of other things to do, and we are more than happy to offer advice.

Is a car necessary?

We believe that a car is essential and it will allow you the freedom to explore this beautiful area.   Hire cars from the airports of Toulouse and Carcassonne and the train stations of Toulouse and Carcassonne are available. If you are coming for a short break and do not want to hire a car, transport from the airport can be arranged (approximately 55 € from Carcassonne and 115 € from Toulouse, each way)

Where do we park?

L'Impasse du Temple has free on-street parking in front of our house, as well as a large parking area behind us. adjacent to our garden.

Is L'Impasse du Temple suitable for those with mobility issues?

As there are steps from the garden into the house and stairs to all bedrooms, L'Impasse du Temple is not suitable for those with reduced mobility or a disability that prevents them from using stairs.

What time may we arrive?

The earliest time of arrival is 5pm. If possible, we ask guests to arrive between 5pm and 7pm. If your travel plans dictate a later arrival, please let us know in advance.

Why are we not able to arrive before 4pm?

To ensure that we are able to run L'Impasse du Temple to a high standard with a personalised service, we need to have access to the house to ensure that this can happen.  We want to be able to welcome guests and show them the property, offer afternoon tea and answer any questions when you arrive with us – so we ask guests to please respect our 5pm (onwards) arrival time.

What is the latest time we may depart?

Departure time is by 10.00am.
